The average cost of employing a live-out nanny:

• £16 net per hour (plus tax, NI, pension etc)

An average week of 50 hours:

• 50 hours x £16 net per hour = £800 net per week
• £800 net per week = £1.2k gross total cost per week (approx) – £5.3k monthly
• £64k per year (total employer cost) approx

An average week of 40 hours:

• 40 hours x £16 net per hour = £640 net per week
• £950 total cost per week approx & £4.1k per month
• £49k per year (total employer cost)

An average week for a part time nanny – 30 hours:

• 30 hours x £16 net per hour= £480
• £670 total employer cost per week and £2.9k per month
• £35k per year (total employer cost)
